TV is a complicated and expensive business. These days satellite and cable plans have to compete with dozens of streaming services, so it can be hard to know what programs you need and which ones are pointless. That is why Live Net TV exists.
What Live Net TV does is that it allows you to watch satellite TV from all over the world for free. This is legal too, as many satellite TV stations are free in different parts of the world. All the application does is allow you to watch that free TV as if you were in that country.
So, let’s go over how you can get Live Net TV installed on your FireStick.
Contents
Step One: Getting Your Firestick Ready
The reason why installing Live Net TV is a process is because FireStick is natively only allowed to install apps from the Amazon app store. While Live Net TV itself is not on that app store, an app that lets you install that is.
- Start by installing what is called the “Downloader app.”
- After you have the Downloader app installed, go to the “Settings” menu on your FireStick’s homepage.
- Then, go to “My Fire TV.” Next, you will want to click the “Developer Options” button.
- Enable the option “install unknown apps.”
The interface will present you with a series of apps that can act as installers. The Downloader app should be one of them. Click this and your FireStick will become enabled to download Live Net TV. Now be warned, there are other apps you can download with the Downloader that are not as legal as Live Net TV. Remember that your internet service provider can see what you do.
That means you should be careful not to view illegally shared or copyrighted material using apps downloaded with the Downloader. If you want to avoid confusion, get a VPN.
Step Two: Downloading Live Net TV
After step one, you should have the Downloader visible as an app on your main menu.
- Start by running the Downloader app.
- Once you do, click the Home button on the app’s screen. It is on the left.
- This should present you with a URL field. Right-click this field and enter the address: “livenettv.bz.”
- Click “go,” and the link will take you to a webpage that allows you to download Live Net TV. Be sure to download it for Amazon Fire TV.
- When it is downloaded, it will launch.
Step Three: Installing Live Net TV
The installation process will start automatically, but it will prompt you by asking whether to install or cancel the installation.
- Click install. It will take a couple of minutes, but it should have a progress bar indicating how much longer it will take. Be patient with it.
- Once the installation is complete, you will get another prompt that gives you the options to “launch” the app or click “done.”
- Click “done” to return to the Downloader interface.
It is preferable to click “done” rather than try to go right into launching the app.
The reason why is because the installer for Live Net TV is still taking up space on your FireStick. In order to be as efficient as possible (and avoid any later problems), you should use the Downloader interface to delete this program. Remember, the actual app that you want to use is called Live Net TV. The installer is called “Live Net TV APK.” Delete that file.
Step Four: Using Live Net TV
Just in case you are worried about using the app itself, here are some pointers.
For one, it is an app just like any other. If you ever installed a streaming service’s app from the app store, then this is just like using one of those. That means you can also find it in the same place. If you seem to be unable to see it, it might be due to the number of applications you have.
You do not need to reduce the number of applications you have (not unless it is disrupting your ability to watch TV). All you need to do is go to a section labeled “Your Apps and Channels.” This will list all of the applications you have access to. You can even reorganize them.
Step Five: Updating Live Net TV
Now, you might eventually be asked to update the app before using it. There should be an update button that is made visible when this happens. But if the app keeps failing to launch, then you will need to reinstall it. That is a simple task, and it will always be the latest version.
Simply go back to the Downloader app and follow the URL that we directed you to input in step two. This is a good reason not to delete the Downloader app. Some updates for Live Net TV will be installed on their own, and some will be installed when you are prompted to install them.
But some will be installed and break the application or not be capable of installing themselves manually. Regardless of the reason, it will usually be fixed by reinstalling the Live Net TV app.
Do not forget to check peacock TV app which is alternative to Live Net TV.
Do You Need a VPN?
So, here’s a question: Do you need a VPN to watch Live Net TV?
The answer tends towards a yes. You see, it is legal to watch Live Net TV. But it is legal in only a very narrow way. It is only legal because importing TV from other countries is legal, and those other countries will not be bound by the same copyright restrictions as the United States.
That means your internet service provider (who is likely constantly scanning internet activity for copyright violations) might identify activity as illegal when it is not. This is the reason you need a VPN. Yes, your actions are defensible in court. But do you really want to go to court over that?
There are two ways to get a VPN for your FireStick:
- Through an app
- Through your computer
Getting a VPN Through an App
This is the easiest way to get a VPN, as many VPNs have apps that are compatible with FireSticks on the Amazon App Store. Most people go with ExpressVPN or NordVPN, though you have a lot of options. The best way to do this is to try out the free ones.
If you want to get really fancy with it, you can try a VPN with a free trial, or use a VPN with a moneyback guarantee right before the guarantee expires. A portion of your money will be tied up in the VPN until that time, but at least you’ll get it back eventually.
Many VPNs will also give you massively discounted first years. You can cycle through these discounts if you are okay with paying for them, but do not want to overspend.
Getting a VPN Through Your Computer
This is a bit more complicated, but if you already have a VPN on your computer, then it is the best way to use it for your FireStick. Start by going to the Settings screen of your FireStick.
Click on the My Fire TV again, but this time click “About” next. Then click “Network”, which has no business being that hard to find. This is where it gets really tricky. Take a picture of the information it gives you on the right. IP Address, Gateway, etc. Record all of it.
Then, click the remote button and hit “forget this network.”
Click on the connection again. It will ask for an SSID (basically your password). Rather than entering it, click “advanced.” Enter the IP Address, Gateway, and then either 24 or 32 for Subnet Mask. Then, it will ask for your DNS. Your VPN will tell you what to enter here.
It will ask for two DNS settings. One will be your modem’s while the other is your VPN’s.
Conclusion
With all of this in mind, you should be able to watch Live Net TV on your FireStick in total privacy.
